Check out GoodGuide

It is hard to know what products are best to buy in terms of limiting the cost to our planet, since the manufacture or production of anything and everything harbors hidden costs to our environment. Recently I discovered the GoodGuide.com website which “provides the world’s largest and most reliable source of information on the health, environmental and social impacts of products and companies”. Their mission is to help us find safe, healthy and green products. Check it out.

My current process in making art is to use and reuse materials I have on hand to the degree possible. It is so easy to be lured into buying more art materials than needed because new pigments or tools or papers can be so seductive but honestly I have enough resources at this stage to keep working till I die, well just about… Anyway, as create individuals I think we can put our imaginations to work to inspire ourselves and others to find uses for just about anything. And if you have materials you’re not likely to use, take them to your nearest school or offer them to artist friends.
